INTRODUCTION
Water soluble fertilizers are those which can be easily dissolved in water and absorbed quickly by the plant stomatal cell through foliar application which provide nutrient to the plants.
SPECIFICATION OF WATER SOLUBLE FERTILIZERS
1. MONO POTASSIUM PHOSPHATE (00:52:34)
IMPORTANCE:
- It contain two essential plant nutrients mainly: Phosphorus (52%) and Potassium (34%) .
- Mono potassium phosphate is recommended to use in control the incidence of powdery mildew in fruits.
- Mono potassium phosphate ensuring availability of phosphorus and potassium to plant at critical growth stage.
- Mono potassium phosphate play a unique role in boosting the flush in alternate bearing of citrus, pomegranate, mango etc.
CRITICAL STAGE TO APPLY:
- Pre blooming and blooming stage of plants.
- Maturity and ripening stages.
BENEFITS:
- Promote accumulation of starch and sugar.
- Improve fruit quality and shelf life.
- Increase fruit size, enhance colour and test.
- Make diseases resistant capacity of plant.
- Increase yield and quality of products.
APPLICATION DOSE:
- 10-20 gram per liter of water.
2. POTASSIUM NITRATE(13:00:45)
IMPORTANCE:
- It contain two essential plant nutrients mainly: Nitrate Nitrogen(13%) and potash (45%).
- Potassium nitrate efficiently absorbed by plant.
- It is mostly used for high value crop give nitrate and potassium free of chloride.
CRITICAL STAGE TO APPLY:
- During flowering
BENEFITS:
- Improve shape, size and height of growing fruits.
- Reduce dropping of flowers.
- Developed resistance in plant at critical stage to water and adverse weather conditions.
- Mature fruits are protected from sunburn by developing leaf canopy.
- Translocate the nutrition compound from root to branches.
- Increase weight, sugar and quality.
- Also increase shelf life of fruits.
- Mostly used for crops like cotton, mango, chilli, potato etc.
APPLICATION DOSE:
- 4-5gram per litre of water.
3. MONO AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE(12:61:00)
IMPORTANCE:
- It contain two essential plant nutrients mainly: Nitrogen (12%) and Phosphate (61%).
- It is free from chloride and sodium.
CRITICAL STAGE TO APPLY:
- Before flowering and after flowering stage of plants.
BENEFITS:
- Application of mono ammonium phosphate at initial stage of crop growth as phosphorus is importance for root development and nitrogen for vigorous vegetative growth.
- Ammonium reduce ph of soil which help in easily absorption of phosphorus from the soil.
- Spray before flowering and after flowering.
- Mostly use in crops like green gram, red gram etc.
APPLICATION DOSE:
- 5-10 gram per litre of water.
- Notes: Do not mixed with magnesium and calcium fertilizer.
4. NITROGEN PHOSPHORUS AND POTASSIUM NPK (19:19:19)
IMPORTANCE:
- Supply the three main primary nutrient mainly: Nitrogen(19%), Phosphorus(19%) and Potassium(19%).
- Having low salt index is good for foliar application.
- Also having less chloride contents, better for foliar application.
CRITICAL STAGE TO APPLY:
- Vegetative stage
BENEFITS:
- Balance primary nutrients mainly NPK effectively.
- Effective in certain rain fed crops.
- Mainly use in vegetative stage.
- It promote root development boost nutrient use efficiency.
- Give good result with low application rates.
APPLICATION DOSE:
- 10-20 gram per liter of water.
5. SULPHATE OF POTASH/POTASSIUM SULPHATE(00:00:50)
IMPORTANCE:
- It is a combination of essential two plant nutrient mainly. potassium(50%) and sulphur(18%).
- It is essential for yield, quantity of food and fibers.
- It is highly water soluble, neutral salt and has no effect on soil.
CRITICAL STAGE TO APPLY:
- Not specified
BENEFITS:
- Provide sulphur and amino acid to high demanding crop like oilseeds.
- Improve nitrogen fixation by legume crops.
APPLICATION DOSE:
- 4-5 gram per liter of water depend on crop requirement.
Note: Do not spray excess dose of sulphate of potash, otherwise it will give harmful effect such as-
- Adverse osmotic effect causes i.e water moves across nutrient concentration.
- Chances of burning of leaf tips and margins.
- Premature leaves become yellow(chlorotic) and falls down, this practice mostly follow in citrus, pomegranate etc for bahar management.
- Leaves get bronzed.
