Seed Treatment With (Rhizobium) Biofertilizer

 INTRODUCTIONS

As we all know that our atmosphere contain approximately 78% of nitrogen and it is freely available to all of us but we don't use efficiently, nitrogen is unavailable to plants because the gaseous form can't be utilized directly by plants without undergoing transformation, the solution for this is rhizobium culture lets see how, Rhizobium is a gram negative soil bacteria that symbiotic associated with root nodule of legume plants. It has ability to fixed atmospheric nitrogen from the air and provide nitrogen to the plants.

MATERIAL REQUIRED

  • Rhizobium culture (200 gm)
  • Seed (10kg)
  • Jaggary (100gm)
  • Water (500ml)
  • Utensils
  • Mortan pan
  • Burner for heating purpose

PROCEDURE FOR SEED TREATMENT

  • Take 500ml of water in Utensils, add 100gm Jaggary in it, boil this mixture for 15-20 minute and wait until it cool.
  • Now add 200gm Rhizobium culture in this(Jaggary) solution.
  • Take 10kg seeds in Mortan pan and pour this(Rhizobium culture) solution in it.
  • Mix this properly so that a thin coat of mixture adheres on the seeds.
  • Allow the seeds to dry under shade so that is ready for sowing under 24 hours.

PRECAUTION

  • Seed sowing should be done within 24 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid direct drying of treated seed under sun light.
  • It is recommended that don't use expired pack.

ADVANTAGE OF RHIZOBIUM CULTURE

  • It make symbiotic associate between root hair of legumes and oilseed crops example- Soybean, Pigeon pea, Chickpea, Black gram, Green gram, Groundnut etc.
  • It fixed 12-18 kg Nitrogen per hector's.
  • It increase the yield up to 15-25 %.
Note: Always use fungicide treatment before insecticides and used biofertilizers after insecticides.
